Dura sealant device

Polyganics is developing a wound care dressing designed to seal the dura membrane surrounding the brain after brain surgery, minimizing leakage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). CSF leakages occur 10 to 15% of intradural procedures, with no current clinical proven product to prevent leakage on the market. The project is expected to enter clinical validations in 2018.

Polyganics is developing its dura sealant patch under a collaboration with the Brain Technology Institute (BTI), located in Utrecht, and Syncom, a contract research organisation located in Groningen. Polyganics and partners receive funding from the European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) by the European Union, to support clinical validation of its dura sealant patch.
